I love all you kids, you know that. Hell, I remember when you were just 10 years old, playing out there in the desert, just waiting for a sip of that sweet Mojave rain. In the sweet Mojave rain, the boy was on his own.

Don’t Shoot me Santa Claus, well no one else around believes me.. but the children on the block they tease me, I couldn’t let them off that easy.

They had it coming, so why can’t you see? I couldn’t turn my cheek no longer. The sun is going down and Christmas is near, just look the other way and I’ll disappear forever.

The Killers en Argentina

El viernes 27 de Noviembre fue EL recital que estaba esperando. The Killers tocaba en Geba y había que ir (con este recital y el de Febrero de Coldplay, ya voy a haber visto a mis tres bandas favoritas ;-) -vi a Keane este año en el Club Ciudad-)

Llegamos con Yayo (ahora, @fyasuda, quien se hizo cuenta en Twitter luego de la salida, no se porque :P) y vimos el escenario ambientado con unas palmeras al estilo del arte de tapa de Day & Age, obviamente con dos pantallas gigantes a los costados. La lluvia de todo el día había dejado el predio muy resbaloso (yo no me caí esta vez :D) pero por suerte mejoró el clima a la noche. A pesar de que habían puesto piso de plástico, nadie zafó de llevarse abundante barro Made in Geba y el aspecto de todos dejó de ser muy Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll.

Bien adelante y cerca de las 21.45, escuchamos los primeros acordes de Human abriendo el recital. Luego de ese, siguieron los temones.. Somebody Told Me, Bones, Joy Ride, For Reasons Unknown, mezclando temas de todos sus discos. El mareo de gente y el pogo sólo se tranquilizó con una versión acústica de Human (Brandon Flowers en piano acompañado de un violín) y Can’t Help Falling in Love, de Elvis. El cierre del recital fue con Jenny Was a Friend Of Mine, lluvia de papelitos, fuegos cayendo sobre el escenario y When You Were Young.

Disfrutamos del recital una hora y media (duración promedio de los shows para las bandas internacionales). A pesar de que no tocaron mis dos canciones favoritas (Sam’s Town y Glamorous – click para escuchar-) el show estuvo increíble, Flowers como showman llevó adelante la presentación excelentemente y quedé muy contenta.
